  1. I think CR7 needs to tread carefully or he could end up tarnishing his absolutely outstanding legacy like Roy Jones Jr, completely different sports but in terms of ability and talent the same scenario, Jones was an out of this world boxer but continued fighting way past his best days against top level competitors and the cracks started to appear, inevitably time caught up with him and his career ended on a very bad low (nobody wants to remember their idols this way) whilst I’m certain he still has something to offer I feel it would be more effective if done with a more conservative approach, less minutes on the pitch to allow for more impact and energy levels, which surely must be challenging for a 39 yr old..even if that 39 yr old is the one and only CR7.

  2. Ronaldo is trash man used to adore him but he’s been a rubbish footballer since the last few years at madrid he became obsessed with stats and scoring, that does not make u goat level, he’s not in the same class as zidane or Ronaldinho not even to talk of Messi lol.

He’s the real homelander of Portuguese football. Still thinks everything is about him when he should be mentoring and encouraging the younger players. Can’t believe this is peoples goat a 40 year old kid with extreme main character syndrome and footballing abilities and fundamentals that has left his game a long time ago. The way he even tried to shoot the in direct free kick was beyond me. Disgrace lol. Top 7 all time for me lol. messi Ronaldinho zidane r9 inesta neymar then ronaldo for me lol

  3. Ghana's Asamoah Gyan missed a late late penalty against Uruguay at the 2010 WC quarter finals. If he had scored, Ghana would have been the first ever African country to make a cameo at the WC semi-finals but he missed. He took the first penalty during the penalty kicks and he scored, although Ghana went on to lose the match. What Cr7 did was laudable but it's not special!

    Otumfour Kojo Agyemang

  4. There is a reason why Perez sold him at 2018, he knew that a character like him will only work only if he is at the top of the world. If he is at any lesser level, he will throw tantrums like that and people will defend it by singing his performances from the past and how he doesnt give up

  5. literally, the world's best youngest players that they talk everyday mbappe, Kane, Bellingham, saka, bruno, silva etc literally playing worse than Ronaldo even at this age but ESPN has a special problem. nice morons stupid ffuckersss.

  6. Craig is absolutely right! Ronaldo’a free kick record is poor! The coach can make that decision. It’s not the end of the world. ?- not like we are taking his captain’s arm band away

  7. When we talk about the elite level managers we jump straight to the club football. Can someone please tell us when was the last time an elite coach won a major international tournament?

  8. CR7 lacking self awareness. If he wants the team to win, he should not take freekicks anymore. when the last time he scored from freekick for portugal?

  9. Frank is right, they cannot force CR7 as it will hav a blacklash and the coach has to do tht,crown/jewel or not person who has the best record shld take the free kick,by the way players will face same backlash if they take free kick from messi ….their status will always be above the team

  10. The last time Portugal scored a free kick at Tournament was in 2021 Euro against Spain. And it was CR7 who scored it, it wasn't only a goal, it was an important equalizer, 3-3. These guys are freaking haters of CR7. They will all die if CR7 eventually win this Euro and even scored maybe in final

  11. Ronaldo has faced so much criticism from media and players, yet they can't change the fact that he is one of the greatest player that has ever played the game…why so much hate..?

  12. I can't imagine when ronaldo retires, what espn will talk about to get the views . Only ronaldo and messi attract that much attention from the media

  13. Ronaldo is the boss…. wether you like it or not chapter closed. Goal …No goal ….luck is also there, He has attained a level in the game, either don't pick him in the team, if he plays he has to be the boss in the team.

  14. All of you who talk about ronaldo be blessed he is 39 and with incredible body and he will continue till 41….before you talk about him respect and think of anyother player with same age and same level none all greats of game have hanged their shoes sooo haters look at your face in mirror and ask before u hate him

  15. There's a reason football players used to retire at their early/middle 30's except for some exceptions, usualy for defenders: Maldini, Baresi, even Pepe. As a portuguese I want him out of the national team. He cried BECAUSE OF HIMSELF when he missed the penalty that, obviously, should have been taken by Bruno Fernandes. And the free kicks. You guys nailed this analyses. Our manager is mediocre and a coward!

  16. While I'm not a fan of CR as a human being, at least based on what is said about him on the media, I respect him as a great football player, ESPN FC kept showing the stats on his freekick failures in this game as if that means Bruno Fernandes or Bernardo Silva can do better as Craig hinted at, when according to TransferMarkt stats, CR scored 52 goals from direct free kicks, 21 of them being game winning goals, while BF scored 9 and BS scored only 1, of course taking the number of failed free kicks into account may give us a better understanding of who's really better, but I didn't find that particular stat.
All of that just to say, it's safer to bet on CR when it comes to freekicks and penalties than the others.

  17. I can’t agree more as a Portuguese and fan that Ronaldo is Greedy!. All his free kicks was to score himself and not be a team player. OVERATED in my books ALWAYS!. Portugal is a better team without him!. PERIOD

  18. It’s all good and I understand the arguments to a point but, we are talking of an ET here! CR7, like him or not, it doesn’t matter, is way above a superstar, he’s on the same level as Pele, Maradona, Cruyff, beckenbauer, Zidane and Messi! Nobody is going to take the ball from them if they want to take all the free kicks! That’s how it works when we are talking about those guys, they are on another level!

  19. Last time Ronaldo was a decent free kick taker was in 2017-18. Nowadays if he manages to get the ball over the wall, that itself is considered a good effort. Kudos to Craig for calling it out.

  20. Didn't England have a similar problem with Rooney. Rooney desperatly wanted to score goals on Euros/Worldcup, but it never really worked, and that bad mood can take down the whole team. At least thats the impression I got. In the first game Ronaldo even passed to Fernandez to score a Goal, but obviously CR was confident he will score sooner or later, and the longer he doesn't the worse it gets for the team I guess…

  21. Messi bootlickers! You are all nobodies you couldnt achieve what Ronaldo has done in 150 lifetimes, the man puts people in seats something you all have never done, nobody even watches your show anymore because its garbag3. Get off Ronaldos ?

  22. What Craig doesn't realize is that the Latin players truly feed on emotion, and it elevates them. Given that, I do agree that Ronaldo shouldn't take direct free kicks close to the penalty box all the time.

  23. 02:40 And the hate campaign against Ronaldo continues! NOT a single fk goal so far in euro But they will never tell you the stats because it will exp0se them but during his rant why didnt Craig mention who should take fks for Portugal and what are their conversion rates? Is Bruno's conversion rate any better or even Silva's? And do they even take regular fks for their respective clubs?

Since they wont answer, let me tell you – No. Silva doesnt take fks for City. Even Bruno doesnt take regular fks for Utd since Rashford takes them mostly. So who else do you wanna take your fks?

All these pundits can do is to lie and deflect. 06:15 The clownraig even mentioned Felix to play in place of Ronaldo! No wonder he is known as the guy who rants on tv rather than a player!

  24. CR7 is emotional leader. Crying because he lost the penalty is selfless. The media guys are jealous because he confident, hardworking.

You ESPN messi fan Boys. 80% of the new generation LOVE the GOAT CR7.
