Some passes never made it into the box, and even when moving the ball quicker was a better option they slowed it down. Ronaldo, even if he may not have the legs to run 120mins, still has the ball sense to make the most of created chances. So the question to the people talking and criticising one man, apparently because of the standard he set as a forward is as a striker for portugal how many chances were created by portugal throughout the competition, how many passes did ronaldo receive from his team mates when he was in the box?

And yes, they are important, but they only take you so far. In the end is about utilising the talent you have at your display in the most effective manner. He did not do that with either Belgium or Portugal. With Portugal, he insisted on using players who were clearly not performing to justify his choices, waiting for that golden moment that never came.
