  1. Most people don`t even try to speak someone else`s language, let alone on a stage in front of lots of people talking to one of the most famous people on the planet, big kudos to this young man 👍

  2. Portugese must be really difficult for a japanese person. The languages are just so massively different, the whole logic and structure. Plus he's a kid. I don't know why these dorks are laughing. Ronaldo handled it like a pro.

  3. There is something very wrong in a civilization in which adults laugh and/or mock children when they try hard to do something regardless of the result.

  4. Im always amazed by how well educated children in Eastern Asia are. I dont know Christiano but from bits like that and anecdotes I hear he comes across like a genuinely cool guy 🤍

  5. As a brazilian who h8s brazil and socker this doesnt please me. I wish that kid was inspired to be a catch wrestler mma legend like sakuraba. He also should learn a better language of a better country instead. Like russia.

  6. I'm brazilian and can tell he speaks better than brazilians. Brazilians cant speak their own language they speak stuff like he are, we is, they is… thats why is disapointing seeing someone from japan inspired by it.

  7. Man, its hard enough for a native english speaker to pronounce portuguese, but portuguese at least uses our same alphabet, this kid probably had to learn romaji first before even being able to start reading or pronouncing portuguese. He put a ton of effort into it and what he said is completely intelligible! Huge respect to him and also to Ronaldo for recognizing that and calling out all those monoglots for being disrespectful.

  8. People like those in the audience are not the exception, they are the norm. And the split second they are called out, they pretend they are on your side. You show your true character when you are at your worst and have most reason and justification to be at your worst. Because not everyone responds the same way.

  9. Respect for Ronaldo for giving the boy strength and hope and defending him.
By the way, as someone from Portugal, I got to say that he speaks portuguese really well. I've seen people from my country speaking worse than him.

  10. As a portuguese native speaker I'll say this guy spoke very good portuguese. His pronunciation was very clear to me. I don't get why people were laughing. I have always wanted to check this video.

  11. I think they were laughing at his leaning in. I did the same. But, I'm glad he took the time to recognize the boy's efforts. I bet it meant a lot to him.

Also, why did the lady stop translating?! Left the poor kid out of the loop.😅

  12. Bro imagine laughing at a kid whos japanese. He is smarter than the audience bro. You know how long it takes to learn Japanese? Imagine if you were on a japanese show and people were laughing at you.

  13. I was an English teacher in my early 20's and taught kids from the ages of 10 to 16. If anyone laughed at someone's pronunciation, they were removed from my class.

  14. I understand more now watching it over again why they're laughing. When I was in Japan, Japanese people would laugh in amazement when I'd speak in their native tongue. It's not that they're making fun of him, in my opinion, but that they're amazed that the boy is speaking another language. I like how Christian got snippy with the intepretor, though. Like, I don't need you to translate MY language lol

  15. This a perfect cultural difference.
Laughing in the West has not the same meaning as in Asia.

What happened is perfectly normal in Japan and the little boy did not get offended….

  16. My most sincere respect and admiration for this young man. Because it requires a lot of courage to speak in front of other people while they're laughing at him. And also the same opinio about CR 7 for being so humble and defending the young man.

  17. I’m glad he got angry. Idk why but this seems to be a common theme with Latin people. Others try to speak their language and they laugh at how they’re saying it wrong. I come from a Spanish speaking family but I was never taught Spanish I’ll try to say things and my husband will laugh my aunts will laugh my cousins laugh. So then I get angry at them. Why kick someone wen they’re trying.

  18. Ronaldo and Messi are both great person, not just great football player. So I respect and love them. Keanu Reeves is awesome too. I love humble people.

  19. Ronaldo is THE Don man. I've SO much respect for him. He's the champion of champions. When he threw a Israelis microphone into the river I KNEW his heart was right.

  20. I love Cristiano, man. He’s a good man. One of the most famous CHRISTIANS in the entire world. Goes to show that having Christ in your life grants you discernment and wisdom. Kindness in a way that is not simply “being nice” is lost on so many. Kindness is profound and meaningful while being nice is fake and fleeting. This video is a great example of both of those things.
